Music videos

I know I don't post often. December likes to go three times faster than other months.
I want to post things I like. I send videos to my brother and I show some to my boyfriend, but those are still tiny slivers.
These things I want to remember. Bits and pieces, forming a great shell. I will inspect your shell to see if we have any matching pieces over which we can bond.

I think of that shell analogy a lot. I might have even used it before.

1.) Moby- Ooh Yeah
I like the idea of porn, up until the part where it gets about the sex, then it gets kind of gross to watch two people humping. I like the tube socks and pizza delivery boys with short shorts. The 70's "glamour" of it all.

2.) Psapp- TheMonster Song

The Monster Song is a sad song about loss and depression; its the morning
after the big night before, when the green eyed monster is lurking around
every corner, just waiting to pounce. Despite its dark and uneasy
lyrical content, The Monster Song has an uplifting and playful pop edge due
to
Psapps trademark use of found sounds and Galias harmonising vocals. The
Monster Song is a taste of what to expect from The Camels Back, Psapps most
starkly beautiful record to date.

3.) Artic Monkeys- Brainstorm
Shut up, you love them too.

4.) Via Audio- Developing Active People
Cute video for a cute
band. I feel like I have to say some curse words now to counter-balance the
universe.

5.) Daft Punk- Robot Rock
... because I'm never NOT on a Daft
Punk binge. I am so crazy for them.

6.) My Bloody Valentine- To Here Knows When
I know this is old,
but this post is kind of about me cleaning out my youtube account of its music
videos and also because I really like it.

7.)
& 8.) Evil Nine- They Live! and
Atari Teenage Riot-
Revolution Action

One of my new(ish) friends showed this to me. He
gave both to me back to back, and I think they both compliment each other very
nicely. I'm a sucker for this kind of stuff.

9.) MSTRKRFT- Work on you

10.) Chad Vangaalen- Molten Light
Appearantly this video is
going through some legal issues, so I had to go to some place other than youtube
for the video.

What!!

South African Teenagers Smoke HIV Drugs to Get High

(keep in mind this country is one of the worst HIV/AIDS epidemics in the world)
Teenage schoolchildren in South Africa have been seen grinding up anti-retroviral pills and smoking them, sometimes mixed with painkillers or marijuana. The children say they are buying or stealing the drugs from HIV patients and healthcare workers.

HIV patients!

I thought doing jenkem (Hint: It's poo! They get high off of the methane!) was bad, but at least that didn't KILL ANYBODY other than the dumbass people who were actually doing it.

Learning this tricky video thing...

1.) Plants and Animals- Feedback in the field"

2.) In 1969, a 14-year-old Beatle fanatic named Jerry Levitan, armed with a reel-to-reel tape deck, snuck into John Lennon's hotel room in Toronto and convinced John to do an interview. This was in the midst of Lennon's "bed-in" phase, during which John and Yoko were staying in hotel beds in an effort to promote peace. 38 years later, Jerry has produced a film about it. Using the original interview recording as the soundtrack, director Josh Raskin has woven a visual narrative which tenderly romances Lennon's every word in a cascading flood of multipronged animation. Raskin marries traditional pen sketches by James Braithwaite with digital illustration by Alex Kurina, resulting in a spell-binding vessel for Lennon's boundless wit, and timeless message. --- Via Current and Boingboing

Links and vapidness

I have been totally swamped with school. So I really have nothing to say other than "hey look at these other sites arent they the ginchiest?"

The word "dessert" comes from the old french word "desservir" meaning "to clear the table."

Free Tibet

http://freetibet2008.tv/

This was on Radiohead's blog. Thom posted it. I thought it was good. Thanks, Thom.

I tried putting it on embed but it made it all stupid. I'll eventually figure it out. Just highlight and watch.

Yesterday we (room mate, boyfriend, room mates cousin, and I) achieved completion of the Endless Setlist #2 on Rock Band 2. It was retarded long at 84 songs and we completed it at around 10 hours. The thing with setlists on Rock Band is that you can't end the game, turn off the console, switch characters or instruments, or anything like that while in the middle of one. The only thing you can do is pause the game, which is essential because I highly recommend getting ripped before, after, and during the Endless Setlist.

The cousin and the room mate were switching back and forth between bass, and the boyfriend did guitar mostly. I'm the only person who has played the drums so I did all 84 songs. It was great practice.

Hm. #1

1.) Sensational Mimicry Acts!
Some salticidae have evolved to mimic ants. By doing so, they can avoid predators and ant attacks - this is a big threat to these small forager hunters. They form the Myrmarachne genus. As ants have 6 legs ant 2 antennae, these spiders keep the front legs over the head imitating the antennae. What they can't hide is the number of eyes, look to the head and you will see two big eyes like ants and in the front of the head four or six more eyes.
